SLOPB Bangladesh has been working since 1997 through various projects
for the socio-economic development of the poor people in BauphalUpazila of Patuakhali district. Ingrid
Memorial Hospital is one of several projects that SLOPB has managed.
Ingrid Memorial Hospital is located in Shibpur village of Kalishuri union of Bauphalupazila under
Patuakhali district. BauphalUpazila consists of 15 unions, where 3 lakh 4 thousand 951 people live.
BauphalUpazila is the second largest Upazila of Patuakhali district. Where there is 1 government health
complex but the population of the area is always deprived of quality health care due to insufficient
population. So they mostly depend on homoeopathic, herbal, village healers, herbalists and scholars for
their treatment.
The nearest Medical College Hospital is located at Barisal. The distance from Kalisuri is 65 km. The communication system is very poor, which is a major obstacle for the people of the area to get better medical care.It takes about 5 hours to reach Barisal by river from Kalisuri and 4 hours by road as there is no direct transport to Kalisuri.
Considering the above-mentioned problems, SLOPB Bangladesh established the Child Health and Mother Home Project in 2001 with the financial support of the donor organization SLOPB Netherlands. By establishing the hospital project in 2001, it is playing a special role in providing safe treatment to the poor and the poor in the area. Ingrid Spur Dushi, wife of the founder of SLOPB Bangladesh Mr. MotalibWaijters and co-founder of the organization, has been running under the name of Ingrid Memorial Hospital after her death due to cancer in 2013.
In order to provide advanced and comprehensive medical services to the public of the SLOPB Bangladesh BauphalUpazila, the proposal to purchase some necessary medical equipment and construct 8 more cabins due to insufficient cabin facilities is hereby approved.
Stitching Land OnTwikiLinks Project Bangladesh (SLOPB Bangladesh) has a training centre in the area adjacent to Ingrid Memorial Hospital which offers various skill development and human resource development training. However, the training centre has become unusable due to long-term use, so the training centre is in need of renovation, by which it will be possible to provide effective training.
For the reconstruction of Ingrid Memorial Hospital and the purchase of medical equipment and renovation of the training centre with the financial support of the donor organization SLOPB Netherlands. A 6-month long program to ensure the good health of patients in the BauphalUpazilathrough the project "Reconstruction & Medical Equipment Purchase of Ingrid Memorial Hospital and Repair of Training Center." Adopted a plan to implement the activities.
